About 5,000 students, who participated in the placement drive at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University, bagged about 6,200 job offers from over 750 companies. That isn’t all, the drive saw 100 per cent placement with the average salary offered being Rs 8.2 lakh, and the highest offer reaching Rs 63 lakh.
The offers were made to eligible students across departments such as the School of Technology (KSOT), School of Management (KSOM), School of Rural Management (KSRM), School of Biotechnology (KSBT) and School of Law (KLS).
There has clearly been an increase in the average package being offered compared to previous years.
It was only in 2004 that KIIT was declared a Deemed to be University. However, ever since its establishment, the Institute has been witnessing almost 100 per cent placement across its departments.
The highest CTC offered was that of Rs 63 lakh per annum, by Yugabyte, to students in the School of Technology.
Amazon, Atlassian, LightBeam and other big brands offered CTCs of over Rs. 30 lakh per annum.
More than 155 companies offered CTCs of at least Rs. 5 lakh per annum. Of these, 47 firms, including Dell, VmWare, Cisco, Philips, ION Group, Razorpay Software (P) Ltd, Kickdrum, Silicon Labs, Schlumberger, ZS Associates, BCN, ITRON and Commvault, offered CTCs of Rs. 15 to Rs 25 lakh per annum.
Several big names, such as Tata Chemicals, Tata Power, Fiat India, TVS Motors, JSW Energy, Volvo Group India, Samsung Heavy Industries, Royal Enfield, ArcelorMittal, Nippon Steel India, Dalmia Cement, Ashiana Housing and Schneider Electric, offered CTCs in the range of Rs 5 to Rs 10 lakh per annum.
The highest CTC offered to students in the School of Management was Rs 22.75 lakh per annum.
The placement rate was 89 per cent in the School of Biotechnology, with the highest CTC offered being Rs 7 lakh per annum.
The Law School saw 81 per cent placement, with highest CTC being Rs 21 lakh per annum.
