In a notable development, the Government of Tripura has raised the festival allowances for employees at all levels. The decision will provide much-needed financial support ahead of the festive season.

The Department of Finance has issued a memorandum outlining the revised rates for the Festival Grant and Festival Advance. The grant will benefit various categories of employees.

As per the updated memorandum, the new rates will differ depending on the employee category. Group-C employees, including those on fixed-pay contracts with regular-scale posts temporarily suspended, will now receive a grant of Rs 2,000. Group-D employees on fixed-pay will also be entitled to Rs 2,000.

Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), employed with prior approval from the Finance Department, will likewise receive Rs 2,000. Part-Time Workers (PTWs), Contractual Workers, and Casual Workers, engaged with prior clearance from the Finance Department, are set to receive a slightly higher grant of Rs 2,200.

Pensioners and Family Pensioners are also covered under this scheme, with each eligible for a festival grant of Rs 2,000. Additionally, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, Home Guards, and Special Police Officers (SPOs) will all be entitled to a grant of Rs 2,200.

Furthermore, religious personnel, such as priests employed in government-run temples, will receive Rs 2,000 as part of the revised grant structure. The memorandum also notes that workers under Central Schemes will be addressed separately, with the concerned departments determining their specific festival grants.

This increase in festival allowances aims to offer timely financial relief to government employees across various sectors, enabling them to celebrate the upcoming festive season with greater ease.
