To ensure that the top-performing service professionals in the workforce are able to build a sustainable livelihood, YesMadam, the Indian at-home salon brand, has introduced a zero per cent commission model for them.

Based on the feedback and personal stories shared by these service professionals during a gratitude lunch hosted by the company, the leadership decided to do away with all commissions for the top performers. That means the best performers will now be able to take home all of what they earn without any cuts.

The brand had been bringing down its commission rates steadily over a period of time. The rates had come down from 20 per cent to 15 per cent and then eight. Now, by eliminating the commissions for top performers, the brand has set a benchmark in the gig economy.

The move, announced on social media by Mayank Arya, co-founder and CEO, YesMadam, reaffirms the brand’s commitment to dignity, trust and true empowerment. Going beyond just a policy shift, the move is a pledge to empower the very people who have given power to the brand.

Arya believes, “Service professionals are the backbone of YesMadam. Their stories of perseverance inspired us to act with intent and empathy.” According to Arya, the company felt that “true support goes beyond applause” and therefore, “offering a zero percent commission is our way of giving them the respect and financial freedom they deserve. It marks a step towards rewriting the rules of how the gig economy treats its people.”

Many women have become part of YesMadam’s workforce and found their lives being transformed. They have gained financial independence and are successfully fulfilling the needs of their families.

Akanksha Vishnoi, co-founder & CMO, YesMadam, shared, “The 0% commission model is not just a business decision but’ a reflection of care becoming part of the system. By offering complete financial freedom to our top-performing partners, we’re not only recognising their efforts but also setting a new benchmark for the gig economy, one that’s rooted in empathy, respect, and real empowerment.”

YesMadam has a presence in over 50 cities with a network of 4,500+ highly-skilled service professionals across India.
