Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the Indian FMCG company, has tied up with LinkedIn, the global professional network, to hold a career coaching session for 35 women in Bidadi, Ramnagar.

The women are being trained at the Career Development Centre (CDC) run by HCCB in Bidadi. The coaching and mentoring session, which was also streamed live on HCCB’s social media handles, was hosted at LinkedIn India’s corporate office in Bangalore.

On the occasion, senior executives of both the organisations shared their personal experiences pertaining to various facets of job interviews, techniques of building self-confidence and ways to draw out an enriching career path.

The session saw all the participants being allocated individual mentors to help them create profiles on LinkedIn for easy accessibility by potential employers.

These mentors also helped the participants create their resumes to highlight the skills that are most searched by employers today.

The CDCs of HCCB have already upskilled thousands of young job seekers, especially underprivileged women, in India making them employable in the services, retail, manufacturing and basic IT sectors. More than 11,356 candidates have been trained since the inception of the initiative, and almost 65 per cent of the trained candidates have been successfully employed in good companies.

In the words of Indrajeet Sengupta, executive director and chief human resources officer, HCCB,“We are very excited to partner with LinkedIn India in our continuing effort to enable these women develop requisite skill-sets, gain confidence and find their own path. I am sure the partnership with LinkedIn India would help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of these women from our community.”
