Realising the massive demand for skilled tech professionals, Tech Mahindra has collaborated with CareerLabs, the educational technology startup, to upskill more than 3,000 fresh graduates to make them future-ready skilled professionals.

The objective of the tie-up is to equip freshers with tech skills relevant to the industry. The courses will include full stack development and will offer students a chance to interact with and seek guidance from experts from the industry. Those who successfully complete the course will also get a chance to work at Tech Mahindra in suitable roles in various verticals.

It is hoped that this upskilling programme will empower students with industry-relevant skills and the technical knowledge at a pace they are comfortable with.

Fresh graduates who have passed out between 2019 and 2021, and who have studied computer science, computer engineering, E&TC, electronics, IT and communication may apply. Postgraduates in computer science and IT and computer application may also apply to make themselves employable in the areas of Java, testing, agile, and DevOps, which are in-demand skills right now.

Eligible students should have scored at least 60 per cent in SSC, HSC, graduation and postgraduation, as applicable.

This upskilling programme is aimed at filling the skills gap in the country. The year 2021 has seen a 200 per cent rise in hiring in the IT space. Even though there is no dearth of techies looking for jobs, a negligible section of them are truly industry-ready or employable.
