Tech Mahindra, is gearing to launch its ‘Gift A Career’ programme under which youth across India, will be offered power training in information technology (IT) and digital, conversational English and workplace readiness. All this will be achieved through its Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) mobile app. Once the training is complete, the students will also receive hiring/ placement assistance.

The digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering services company will offer training in over 45 domains, via the SMART centres and academies of Tech Mahindra Foundation, across 11 locations in the country.

People who have passed class 10 and fall in the 18 to 30 age bracket are eligible for the training programmes. While the SMART+ programme is meant for persons with disabilities, the SMART-T programme is aimed at offering technical skills.

CP Gurnani, MD & CEO, Tech Mahindra, explains that the ‘Gift a Career’ initiative aims to “extend support to the youth who have been ousted out of jobs owing to the pandemic”.

The initiative is a part of the Company’s Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) programme, which outlines the importance of making responsibility personal and encourages staff members to embrace it in their daily lives and drive positive change uniquely.

Therefore, employees of Tech Mahindra can identify and recommend the beneficiaries of the initiative, by registering with ‘Gift a Career’ via the ISR mobile app. Any number of candidates can be referred by filling in their details in the form provided.

Tech Mahindra Foundation’s SMART centres and academies have trained about 107,799 young men and women since 2012-13. Over 75 per cent graduates have been successfully placed too.

Rakesh Soni, CEO, Tech Mahindra Foundation, believes, the initiative will provide the youth an “opportunity to make a dignified living even during these troubled times.”
