In a nationwide Rozgar Mela held on Monday, 18 December, 2024, over 71,000 young individuals received appointment letters for permanent government jobs. This large-scale recruitment is part of an ongoing campaign to provide government jobs across various ministries, departments, and institutions.
Over the past 18 months, nearly 10 lakh youths have secured permanent government positions, marking a significant milestone in employment generation. The new recruits will join critical sectors such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Department of Financial Services, among others.
The event took place simultaneously across 45 locations nationwide, symbolising a unified effort to address employment needs.
According to the latest data, 29 per cent of those recruited on 18 December belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), reflecting a 27 per cent increase in OBC recruitment compared to previous administrations. Scheduled Castes accounted for 15.8 per cent, while Scheduled Tribes made up 9.6 per cent of the new appointments.
The initiative underscores a commitment to expanding employment opportunities while ensuring inclusivity and representation in government roles. For thousands of young individuals, this event marked the start of a new chapter, fulfilling long-held aspirations and rewarding years of effort and determination.
