Rajesh Srivastava, who had been serving as chief human resources officer at Ion Exchange since April 2025, has sadly passed away.

Srivastava brought with him a wealth of experience, having earlier held the role of President and CHRO at Welspun India, and before that, CHRO at Capital Foods. His HR journey began in 1999 with the Aditya Birla Group as an HR officer. He quickly rose through the ranks, contributing to Group?wide initiatives such as job analysis and evaluation.

He played a pivotal role in the founding team of Birla Sun Life Insurance, later moving into senior HR leadership positions across Birla Sun Life Asset Management and UltraTech Cement, where he served as Joint Executive President and HR Business Partner for multiple divisions.

In 2019, he joined Capital Foods, where he built the HR function from the ground up, strengthening the company’s employer brand. Welspun India appointed him President and CHRO in 2022, a role he held for over two years before moving to Ion Exchange. At Ion, he successfully drove people?centric initiatives, implemented the HRMS platform, and established the Ion Exchange Academy to advance employee learning. His efforts helped foster the “One ION” culture across the organisation.

Rajesh Srivastava’s untimely demise has deeply saddened colleagues, peers, and the wider HR fraternity. He will be remembered as a warm, committed professional and a leader who proudly called himself a “lifelong learner.”
