Raja Radhakrishnan has been roped in by Ashok Leyland as its president and head of human resources (HR). He takes up this position following Amanpreet Singh Bhatia’s promotion to the role of group president – HR at Hinduja Group.

Before joining Ashok Leyland, Radhakrishnan served as the country human resources director for Hitachi Energy India. With over 22 years of experience, he has successfully led HR initiatives at the country, regional, and global levels. Throughout his career, Radhakrishnan has demonstrated a strong ability to foster a performance-oriented culture, leading and supporting teams in driving business transformation across various regions. He has also conducted more than 50 leadership development workshops in 20 different countries.

Radhakrishnan began his professional journey at ABB in 1996 as a management trainee. In his most recent role at ABB Group, based in Zurich, he held the position of global business services (GBS) HR functional lead. Prior to that, he served in various HR roles, including country HR manager for ABB in India. Radhakrishnan played a pivotal role in establishing the new GBS HR Center in Bangalore and leading HR transformation efforts for the AMEA Region.

Having worked in diverse geographical locations and cultures, Radhakrishnan has gained extensive expertise in all aspects of HR, with a particular focus on cultivating a dynamic culture and developing organisational capabilities. His skill set includes strategic business partnering, leadership development, operational excellence, lean six sigma, and leading service delivery on a global scale.
