Mehrotra will report to Citibank India CEO Pramit Jhaveri and Asia Pacific senior chief human resources officer, Stephen Cronin.
Citibank has appointed Shweta Mehrotra as human resources officer for India and South Asia.
In her new role, she will lead the HR strategy and talent development for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. She is expected to take on the new assignment by September.
Mehrotra was earlier based out of Singapore as regional HR advisor to the global consumer bank, across 17 markets in APAC and EMEA.
Having begun her career with Colgate-Palmolive India in 2002, as assistant manager-sales HR, Mehrotra joined Citi India in 2005 as regional HR head, North & East, Institutional Clients Group.
In her 13-year stay with the Company, she has climbed the rungs and held various leadership positions. From VP & human resource generalist in 2005, she was promoted to head, talent & organisation development, South Asia, in 2010.
In a short span of time, Mehrotra was again elevated to head-talent & diversity, Asia Pacific, in 2014. She continued to handle the position for three years before shifting base to Hong Kong as head, HR-operations & technology & global functions, Citi South Asia.
Mehrotra will now report to Citibank India CEO, Pramit Jhaveri and Asia Pacific senior CHRO, Stephen Cronin.
A postgraduate in human resources from the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Mehrotra holds a graduate degree in Economics from Delhi University.
