Hinduja Group has appointed Amanppreet Singh Bhatia as its group president – human resources. He will be based out of Mumbai. Bhatia moves from Chennai, where he was president – HR, Ashok Leyland, for the past three and a half years.

Bhatia began his professional journey as an HR business partner with Gillette India in 2002. Three years into this role, he moved to Symantec as senior manager for a short stint of less than two years. His next stop was Intertek Group, where he joined as country head – HR, heading HR for all five business divisions of the company. In the three years that he spent there, he managed to align the HR processes and establish practices for better business growth across divisions. From 2009 to 2017, Bhatia served as the executive vice president & group head – HR at VE Commercial Vehicles, based out of Gurugram. After a successful seven-year tenure, he moved to Escorts in April, 2017, as group CHRO, based out of the National Capital Region.

The year 2019 saw him relocating to Chennai, to take on the role of president – HR, Ashok Leyland.

Bhatia, who holds an MBA in personnel management and industrial relations, has handled leadership / strategic roles in multinational organisations and big corporates across diverse industries, including manufacturing, engineering /automobile, FMCG, IT and services.
