    Harshvendra Soin named chief people officer at Tech Mahindra

    Soin is a seasoned HR professional. In the past, he was chief people officer at Aditya Birla Retail and Fortis Healthcare.

    Harshvendra Soin, who was heading the enterprise business as the senior vice-president and country head at Tech Mahindra Canada, has now been appointed as chief people officer (CPO). Soin has been with Tech Mahindra since 2012 and has held important roles. In the past he was head, global leadership acquisition and development, and head business HR for APAC and IMEA (Telecom & Enterprise).

    He will take on his new role in July, this year. Soin will take over from the current chief people officer, Rakesh Soni, who will assume an advisory role in the organisation.

    Soin is a seasoned HR professional. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Soin was the chief people officer at Fortis Healthcare for three years. He was responsible for developing the HR Strategy for Fortis Healthcare and led the change towards institutionalising processes and helping in a rapid scale up through availability of talent.

    Prior to that he was chief people officer at Aditya Birla Retail for two years between 2007 and 2009. Here, he was an integral part of the ‘core’ leadership team and his job was to articulate and implement the overall HR vision and culture of Aditya Birla Retail.

    He has also worked towards creating innovative HR Processes and Policies in Bharti Enterprises where he was Senior Vice President – People Excellence before moving as the Head – HR for Bharti Retail. He has also worked with the Oberoi Group and Punwire.

    Soin is a law graduate and an MBA in personnel management and industrial relations from Punjab University.
