IT major, Tech Mahindra has officially announced the appointment of industry veteran, Richard Lobo, as its chief people officer (CPO) in a global capacity. Bringing over two decades of expertise in HR transformation, employee experience, diversity and inclusion, Lobo is poised to steer the HR initiatives at Tech Mahindra.
This move is part of Tech Mahindra’s ongoing leadership restructuring initiated by Mohit Joshi, the new CEO. HRKatha had earlier reported on this development previously on December 11, 2023.
Having previously worked alongside Joshi and being an Infosys veteran with over 22 years of service, Lobo resigned from Infosys in August 2023. His diverse background, including a recent stint as an advisor at edtech platform Byju’s, equipped him with valuable insights into the evolving HR landscape and the challenges of scaling organisations.
His arrival signals Tech Mahindra’s commitment to prioritising human capital development and leveraging talent effectively to achieve its strategic objectives. Lobo’s expertise and network are expected to be invaluable in attracting and retaining top talent, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving employee engagement.
Joshi welcomed Lobo on board, highlighting his people-first approach, dedication to empowering organisations in the evolving work landscape, and passion for nurturing emerging leaders.
Before Joshi’s restructuring, Harshvendra Soin held dual roles as the chief human resources officer (CHRO) and head of marketing at Tech Mahindra. With the restructuring, Soin will relocate to Australia to lead the consolidated Asia Pacific and Japan business.
This leadership reshuffle reflects Tech Mahindra’s strategic intent to solidify its presence in the Asia Pacific and Japan region, while simultaneously investing in its human capital to drive future success. Soin’s proven track record and Lobo’s industry expertise position the company well to capitalise on the immense potential of these markets.
