Livspace.com, the online home interior and renovation platform, has appointed Joyita Poddar as its new chief human resource officer. In her new role, Poddar will be responsible for critical people strategies and leadership training. She plans to retain the core of the organisation culture, and optimise the available wealth of talent so as to enable the Company’s growth and expansion into newer markets. Prior to this appointment, Poddar was the senior human resource director at Sabre Communications.

In her long career spanning over 20 years, Poddar has worked with many orgnisations serving in various HR function roles. She has worked with some well-known companies, such as eBay, Star India, Piramal Enterprises and Saint Gobain.

In the HR function, Poddar specialises in organisation change management, M&A, culture and people strategies, transformation initiatives, leadership growth and leadership coaching.

After completing her PGDM from the Symbiosis International University, Poddar began her career with Nicholas Piramal (now Piramal Healthcare). After spending two years there, Poddar moved to HDFC Bank as manager-HR. Later, Poddar joined eBay as the head-HR , where she formulated HR strategies for the India region. She soon relocated to Singapore as the regional head-HR handling the function for Singapore, Southeast Asia and Japan.

“In a fast-paced digital environment, people and talent are imperative to business growth. Livspace is truly unique in how it has been able to build a culture of success with humility, and unparalleled commitment. I look forward to retaining this uniqueness, working alongside some great minds to build a fun, yet competitive work culture that would help the Company grow. I am excited to be joining a Company that is functioning as a crucial disruptor in the home design and interiors sector. They are doing amazing things and have already built a great business that has made the otherwise cumbersome process of home interior decorating seamless, but more importantly, delightful”, says Poddar.

Livspace has also grown because of its passionate and talented people. Commenting on Poddar’s appointment, Anuj Srivastava, co-founder and CEO, Livspace, says, “The depth and quality of our team has been a key factor in making Livspace a formidable player in the home solutions space. At this point in our growth, we are thrilled to bring in Joyita, a passionate and experienced expert in organisational development, to drive our people strategy. We look forward to her contribution to attracting the right talent and making Livspace the best place for entrepreneurial minds, who can take forward our vision of making beautiful homes accessible to everyone through technology.”

Poddar is also a certified solutions-focussed coach.
