Kalpana Devnani has joined Smartworks as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO). In her new role, she will be spearheading all human-resource functions across the company.
Prior to this, Devnani was associated with Jubilant FoodWorks, as its head-HR, emerging brands & international markets, having joined the company in the year 2022. Before that, she was also associated with its agriculture branch, Jubilant Agri & Consumer Products (JACPL) starting from April 2021 – Dec 2021. Her role here primarily included leading the people & culture agenda for JACPL . She looked after an employee base of 650, and the company’s self-owned four manufacturing facilities.
Backed by an experience of over 13 years, Devnani has held many leadership roles across industries including FMCG, cosmetics, QSR and banking.
She has also worked with many renowned organisations such as ICICI Bank, Godrej Consumer Products and Samara Capital, successfully managing programmes that transformed company cultures and enhanced team performance.
She was associated with Samara Captial as its head-HR, and also with Nature’s Essence and Blue Heaven Cosmetics. She joined the company in the year 2019, and lead cultural change, transformed operating models, while ensuring a performance- driven culture for both its personal care brands. Samara Captial acquired Nature’s Essence (a skincare brand) and Blue Heaven Cosmetics in 2019.
Her longest stint was with Godrej Consumer Products where she spent over six years, from 2013 to 2019. She joined the company as its talent-acquisition specialist and HR business partner-SAARC & BBlunt (a personal care brand) (managing HR), leading the recruitment process automation from manual to online and further to mobile- based app.
In the year 2015, she was elevated to the role of HR business partner-sales, for North and East India & special projects ((DGM-HR). In this capacity, she lead the HR delivery for North & East divisions, anchoring capability development, talent management, employee engagement, talent acquisition and diversity & inclusion agenda for the division.
Devnani is a BTech graduate from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and holds an MBA from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon
