Before joining Microsoft in September 2016, Vamsi had a two-year stint at Flipkart as the campus head.

Microsoft’s former head of India University Relations, Madhav Vamsi, has just joined Swiggy as head-talent & culture for the food tech company.

His role at Swiggy includes leading learning & development and building a sustainable learning culture, aside from leveraging technology (HR technology) to enable the organisation to move forward into a digital future. He would also be involved in building a campus strategy and the talent management function, as part of the role. Organisation design & talent management would be other areas he would be focussing on.

Talking of his decision to join Swiggy, he says, “Post Microsoft I had taken up consulting roles with a couple of startups, and I was also consulting with Swiggy. Clearly, this decision has a background to my consulting experience with Swiggy–a great organisation with intense thought leadership and learning agility, the right mix of values and a firm, which sharply focusses on consumer experience. These are the values and the culture I wanted to be associated with.”

Before joining Microsoft in September 2016, Vamsi had a two-year stint at Flipkart. A doctorate in management studies from NIPM, Vamsi has earlier worked with TCS-CMC as their country head-talent acquisitions and head-campus recruitments for over six years, before joining Flipkart. He started his career with Mensa Soft and then moved to AMI Technologies as the DGM-HR & Training.

Vamsi has had various achievements and accolades in his previous roles and looks forward to a great stint at Swiggy now. Inspired by the organisation’s values and culture, Vamsi is looking forward to contributing his bit to ensure it gets better. “The organisation is driven by eight fundamental core values, and in my opinion, it is important to create broader programmes and platforms to encourage talent, and building a continuous learning environment would be key areas I would be focussing on,” he adds.
