    Pankaj Poddar appointed AVP- HR , Aditya Birla Group , Ultratech, DCW

    Aditya Birla Group has appointed Pankaj Poddar as AVP-HR for the Ultratech cement plant, at Dalla, in Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh. Poddar moves from AVI-Oil India, where he was assistant general manager-HR & IR (plant HR head), for more than 10 years.

    Before joining AVI-Oil, which is a joint venture of Indian Oil, Balmer Lawrie & Co. and NYCO, France, Poddar was senior manager, Reliance Infrastructure for almost two and a half years, from September 2008, to December 2010.

    Poddar, who is a physics graduate from the Oriental College of Commerce, holds a postgraduate degree in PMIR, IR and HR from LNMI, Patna.

    Known for his hard work and knowledge of HR functions, his dedication and team leadership skills will be an asset in his new assignment. Human resource management , administration, industry relations, training and development, appraisal system and employees’ compensation and benefits are his areas of expertise.

    Poddar has worked for the power plant erection of DVC under Reliance Energy, which also entailed managing a huge workforce of more than 800, including contractors.

    He has also volunteered as Delhi NCR in charge for the NGO, the Foundation for Accommodation Campaign and Training (FACT). This Delhi-based non-governmental organisation helps casual and daily wagers, and is dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of their families. It also works in the areas of environment and sanitation.
