After spending over four and a half years with Observe.AI, Cijo George has moved to Practo to play vice president and head of artificial intelligence.

This alumnus of Cochin University of Science and Technology from where he completed a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, Cijo George went on to obtain an MSc degree from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in 2012.

George then joined Nokia Siemens Networks as a software engineer for over a year before being a student researcher for two years.

He then took up the role of member of technical staff II at NetApp. Three years into this role, in August of 2015, he was elevated to member of technical staff III.

After five and a half years with NetApp, Cijo George joined Belong.co as senior data scientist. Less than a year later, he was promoted to technical lead, AI.

By December of 2019, he had reached the position of head of platform and AI, working out of Bengaluru.

It was in June of 2021 that his association with Observe.AI began, as manager, machine learning. Just over two years into this role, he was elevated to senior manager, machine learning and engineering.  Another promotion in February of 2025 made him director of engineering, AI platform.

Known to be the perfect blend of math, engineering and machine learning. Cijo George’s focus has always been bridging cutting-edge technology with genuinely useful, intuitive user experiences.

In his new role at Practo, the healthtech platform, he will partner with the company’s product, engineering, and clinical teams to further integrate AI into how patients discover and access care, and how providers deliver care with greater accuracy, reliability, and consistency at scale.

HRKatha wishes George all the best as he leads the AI agenda for Practo.
