In this new role, Mehta will lead the people function for the entire Welspun Group, which has diverse businesses including home textiles, line pipes, infrastructure & steel, as well as oil & gas. Mehta joined Welspun in 2020 and has received a major promotion within a year.

Talking to HRKatha, Mehta says, “My core belief is that People are the cornerstones for any business. In my role my focus would be to work towards empowering employees and will drive people strategies through a lens of transformation which not only builds positive employees experience but impacts the business success as well.”

Before joining Welspun, Mehta was the chief people officer at Synergy Capital, where he played a key role in framing the people practices and helping accelerate transformation.

Mehta carries more than two decades of experience in HR and has worked with big brands including L&T, KEC International, Times Group, DHFL, DCM Shriram and Zee Entertainment.

Mehta shares with HRKatha that for the time being he will lead the HR function for the home textiles business as well, as the Company is still to finalise someone for the role.
