Fincare Small Finance Bank has appointed Sai Suryanarayana M as chief people officer (CPO). He has moved from AU Small Finance Bank, where he was chief of human resources for two years.
Suryanarayana, who did his postgraduate diploma in personnel management from the Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi, started his career as personnel officer in 1996, with BEML. After four years, he joined TI Cycles of India as deputy manager – HR. In August 2001, he was appointed compensation manager at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. A four-year stint later, he found himself working as corporate HR manager for ITC. For two years, he was responsible for the HR deliverables at the R&D centre of the Company, including setting up a first of its kind agricultural sciences R&D Centre at Hyderabad. He also designed HR policies specific to R&D and was responsible for learning and development interventions.
In July 2007, he moved on to join Future Metals as vice president – corporate HR. His next stop was Ing Vysya Bank (now Kotak Mahindra Bank), where he was head – HR for retail banking. After over three successful years there, he joined Toyota Financial Services, as SVP & head- HR and administration, a position he held for almost four years, working out of Bangalore.
In 2015, he became VP– HR and administration, at Sami Labs, working out of the corporate office. There he lead and developed a comprehensive HR programme for Sami / Sabinsa group of companies.
Before joining AU Small Finance Bank in 2019, Suryanarayana spent almost two years as VP & head – HR & administration, for Surin Automotive. It was in March 2019, that he joined AU Small Finance Bank as chief of HR.
Backed by more than two decades of experience, in his new role at Fincare, Suryanarayana will lead the Bank’s people function and will report to Pankaj Gulati, head – CEO Office.
A commerce graduate from the Shri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Whitefield, Suryanarayana is an experienced HR professional with multi-industry experience spanning banking, financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG R&D and manufacturing.
