    Shelly Morales takes charge as VP-people at Balbix

    Shelly Morales has taken over as VP-people, at Balbix, a cybersecurity platform. She took over in March, 2020 and is based out of the San Jose, California.

    As the VP, her role currently is to enable the global HR department through innovative leadership to drive the organisation to deliver. Leading organisational cultural initiatives, employee engagement and talent acquisition are some of her focus areas.

    Morales has over 20 years of experience working for large and small global technology companies. Her areas of expertise include employee and executive compensation, human capital, data analytics, process improvements, M&As, performance management and managing the overall HR function for businesses.

    Prior to Balbix, she was VP-HR at Quantenna communications for a year which was later acquired by ON Semiconductor. Her areas of focus included compensation and benefits, data analytics, retention, succession planning, organisational development and compliance.
    Before Quantenna, she was head of R&D, HR at Cadence Design Systems, where she led a 13-member team and was responsible for 4500 employees across four business groups.

    Prior to her three-year stint at Cadence, she was head-HR for learning and development at Atlassian, for 10 months.

    She joined Atlassian after a year as the HR leader at LinkedIn. As a strategic business partner, she was responsible for providing support to the VP, marketing and global support and the VP, corporate communications.

    Her longest stint was at Software AG, where she spent over eight years. Beginning in 1999, she left as HR director to join Siperian as senior HR director in 2007.  Her seven-month stint at Siperian was the shortest stint of her career. She continued as senior HR director till she joined Juniper Networks next in 2008. There, she stayed for more than five years before moving to LinkedIn as HR leader.
