After a successful tenure of over four years with Google, Sumoya Ghosh has taken up the role of head of learning and development (L&D) at The Hartford India.

Having interned with Randstad, KPMG and IDFC from 2014 to 2015, Sumoya Ghosh joined Accel as manager-HR, in November of 2015. Soon, she moved to Wissen Technology as HR business partner, in July of 2016. There she worked for big accounts such as Morgan Stanley, MSCI and British Telecom, and played HRBP location lead for Mumbai and Bangalore for over a year.

In August of 2017, she took up the role of HR business partner at WNS Global Services, based out of Gurgaon. She was the single point of contact for more than 1000 employees in the research and analytics division of WNS. She also completed the ‘Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt’ training and worked on employee experience projects.

IG Solutions appointed her head of talent management, engagement and OD initiatives in January of 2019. For over a year she successfully led global talent management & engagement. She was also chief of staff to the chief people officer.

Ghosh’s next stop was InMobi where she served as human resources lead from July 2020 to February 2022.

For over four years now, she has been angel investor to Greenday- Kisan Ki Dukan, having begun in 2022. She has also invested in Board Infinity, and is a growth investor for this career tech and upskilling platform. For the past six years she has been a member, HBR Ascend Select, Harvard Business Review.

Sumoya Ghosh’s association with Google began in February of 2022 when she joined as people programmes specialist-APAC. A year and a half into this role, she was elevated to senior specialist, talent engagement-APAC, in August of 2023. Just over a year later came another promotion that made her Google experience partner-APAC, in September of 2024.

Now, in her latest assignment at The Hartford India, she will be tasked with heading the AI-native learning initiatives, designing the employee-development strategies, and handling the organisational learning and transformation programmes.

She will be responsible for nurturing a culture of innovation and inclusion. Her focus will be to align the capabilities of the workforce with the evolving priorities of the insurance and financial-services company.
