Diebold Nixdorf has appointed Ranjan Mishra as HR director, India. He will oversee all people operations in India, encompassing commercial business, shared services and global delivery centre, starting 18 February. He will report to Gillian Pang, VP-HR, APAC, based in Singapore.

Prior to this Mishra was EVP-human resources, at Vodafone Idea, taking care of HR for technology, shared services centre and the You broadband business.

Diebold Nixdorf is an American multinational strategic, collaborative end-to-end provider of services, software and hardware for the financial and retail industries.

Speaking to HRKatha about his mandate at the new organisation, Mishra says, “I will be integrating three businesses and running them through a common culture to build a strong brand.”

Mishra started his journey at Vodafone, in June 2008 as assistant VP-HR. He was the circle head for one of the largest business operations of Vodafone. His responsibility was to deliver the people agenda. Within the same brand, his purview of work ranged from HRBP technology to talent acquisition and employer branding.

In his last role, Mishra led HR for the technology function, shared services and the You broadband business. With a team of thirteen HRBPs, he delivered strategic HR solutions around organisation design, talent management and capability building.

He started his career way back in March 1993, as a personnel officer at Gajra Bevels Gear. After that, he worked in multiple organisations, such as Reliance Telecommunications, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, Gillette India and Delphi. The HR function has been a common ground in all the brands that he has worked with in the past.

Mishra holds an MBA degree in HR from Jiwaji University and an executive MBA in general management, from IIM Bangalore.
