This initiative aims to help realise the dreams of management students from top business schools.

Godrej Industries Limited and Associate Companies (GILAC) has re-launched it campus activity –LOUD (Live out your dream). This initiative is aimed at helping management students from top business schools realise their dreams.

The programme, which is in its fourth edition, was earlier shelved due to career or sponsorship constraints.

The activity will be held in 12 leading management schools including the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) Mumbai, Xavier’s Institute of Management (XIM) Bhubaneswar, XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, SP Jain Institute of Management (SPJIM), Mumbai, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune; Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode; Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon; Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Delhi; Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi; Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.

In an official communique, Nisaba Godrej, executive director, Godrej Consumer Products, says, “Godrej LOUD is our way of finding passionate young leaders. We believe that if someone is really passionate about something, even if it has nothing to do with what we do, it is likely they will bring that drive with them to Godrej.”

The search is for passionate first-year students. The winners of this programme get sponsorship and mentoring support from Godrej and a pre-placement summer offer. This is Godrej’s alternative to hiring through a standard summer process on campus.

Sumit Mitra, head, group human resources & corporate services, adds, “This programme helps us identify passionate and creative young Indians, whom we hope to nurture as future Godrej leaders. The past three years have been a testimony of the growing popularity of this initiative”.

“A new addition this year is the introduction of a LOUD master class with Prof. Henry Jenkins, a globally renowned media scholar.”

Last year, the initiative saw a response with over 1600 applications from across 12 campuses.

Fourteen finalists were shortlisted to share their dreams at the Godrej Headquarters in Mumbai out of which seven winners were declared.

Akhil Kalia, one of our LOUD winners from last year, visited the Terra-di-Motori in Italy and sketched automobiles in the factory museums of manufacturers, such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani and Maserati.

Kurmapu Keerthi Sindhuri, another winner from LOUD 2014, installed a hygienic piping system in a temple to recover Abhishekam offerings and distribute them among the poor.
