100% internship offers for IIM Calcutta batch of 2022

The virtual process witnessed participation from 139 companies and 473 students

The whole process was carried out virtually with the students and corporates participating from their home locations, it said in a statement.

Despite the pandemic and resultant economic slump, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, has yet again managed to procure 100 per cent summer internship placements for the class of 2022.

The summer internship placement process took place virtually with 473 students and 139 corporates participating from their homes.

This year, there were 43 new employers. While 40 per cent of the internship offers came from the consulting, finance and BFSI sector, 32 per cent came from the general management, sales and marketing space.

The rest of the internship offers came from operations, product management, e-commerce and startups.

The top employers were Accenture and Microsoft.

The placements were divided into three categories. The first one consisted of 35 firms from the private equity, investments, venture capital and management consulting space. 180 students were given offers in this category, some of them at international locations, with Accenture making the maximum offers,that is, 21.

About 60 companies made up the second category of conglomerates, software services, FMCG, consumer services, e-commerce, and consumer durables. About 171 students got placed in this cluster, with maximum offers — 11 — from Microsoft. About 122 students received offers from 44 companies that made up the third group, which covered BFSI, advertising, consulting services, power and utilities, hospitality, manufacturing, food aggregators, and start-up units. 122 students got placed in this cluster
