After Anish Sarkar stepped down and joined Sodexo, Mercer announced the appointement of Arvind Laddha from JLT Independent Insurance Brokers, India as the CEO of Mercer India. The appointment will become effective upon the closing of the transaction between Mercer’s parent company, Marsh & McLennan Companies, and JLT, which remains subject to the receipt of certain antitrust and financial regulatory approvals.

In his new role, Laddha will be responsible for driving growth in India, focusing on emerging market opportunities and expanding current client relationships. Laddha will join Mercer’s India, Middle East, Turkey and Africa (IMETA) zone leadership team, and will report to Mustafa Faizani, CEO, Mercer, IMETA zone.

“I am pleased to join Mercer as the CEO for India, adding my perspective and insights to the strategic direction and success of the firm. I look forward to engaging with my new team and writing the next chapter of Mercer’s success story in India,” says Laddha

Currently, Laddha is the deputy CEO and a board member of JLT Independent. He brings 15 years of experience in advising clients on benefits consulting and administration, strategy and investments planning. During his tenure at JLT, he led the Employee Benefits Practice in India and served as CFO establishing its Global Employee Benefits Analytics Centre of Excellence.

Expressing his views on the appointment, Faizani says, “Laddha’s extensive background in health and benefits consulting as well as wealth management will further strengthen Mercer’s brand locally. This will, in turn, be instrumental in accelerating our growth and portfolio in this market.”
