Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) — part of the Anglian Omega group of businesses, focusing on manufacturing of steel for the automotive industry in India — has appointed Nidam Khanam as its CHRO. In this role, Khanam will focus on strengthening the organisation structure and culture.

Khanam joins at a time when the Company is looking to increase its volumes and hire more people.

Admitting that “The vibrant and passionate people at OSM have been at the heart of the Company’s success,” Khanam reveals her plan to build on that “people centric practices and value-based transformation”.

She hopes to begin by “aligning and building the human resources function and team to support the overall business goals and vision of OSM”. She will be “working closely with the Chairman to bring a transformational change in the people’s processes and practices, building people’s capabilities, as well as engaging and retaining talent,” shares Khanam on her new appointment.

She goes on to add that her vision is to “make OSM a company of choice” for the people. She strongly believes that while organisations do make strategies one can only bet on People to execute those strategies. “Having Vision is quite easy, but to sustain the growth you have to have great culture and values,”points out Khanam.

Prior to this appointment, Khanam was working as an independent executive coach and mentor advising organisations in the field of business and HR for more than four years.

After completing her postgraduation in HR from Aligarh Muslim University, Khanam honed her skills for the first five years of her professional journey working as a senior recruiter in an executive research firm, and as an HR generalist in an agribusiness organisation.

It was in 2006 that Khanam joined Rockwell Automation as an HR manager, leading talent acquisition, talent management, as well as employee engagement and communication initiatives in the organisation.

She worked with Rockwell for over six years and then moved to Grohe, a sanitary fittings manufacturing brand leading the HR function for one of its brands, Lixil Water Technology, for its India business. She also spent less than a year at Jindal Stainless (JSL) leading corporate HR and plant HR as general manager and corporate head.

Khanam is backed by over 18 years of HR leadership and transformation experience, and is known for introducing radical HR practices and frameworks which transform cultures and brands.

Along with Khanam’s appointment, OSM also announced the appointment of Vivek Dhawan as its director-sales.

Welcoming Khanam and Dhawan, Uday Narang, founder and chairman, Omega Seiki Mobility, expressed confidence in their “compounded experience” which he said is “needed for the next phase of growth” of OSM as an organisation and brand. He looked forward to their “valuable insights and perspectives besides functional experience to explore latent potential and reach new milestones”.
