The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Manepalli Sridhar for the post of director (HR) at Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL). The recommendation was made following interviews with 11 candidates held on 28 July, 2026.

Sridhar is currently serving as executive director (HR) at BHEL’s corporate office in New Delhi.

A BHEL veteran with more than 34 years of experience, he joined the public sector engineering major in 1990 as an engineer trainee and has spent his entire career with the organisation.

Over the years, he has held several key positions across the company’s human resources function, including general manager and head (HR) at the corporate office before being elevated to executive director (HR). His experience spans human resource management, industrial and employee relations, workforce planning, organisational development, HR systems and policy implementation.

As executive director (HR), Sridhar has been closely associated with BHEL’s people strategy and workforce management, giving him an in-depth understanding of the organisation’s HR landscape and operational priorities.

The PESB interviewed a total of 11 candidates for the position. Seven candidates were from BHEL, while the remaining candidates represented organisations including Indian Oil Corporation, HUDCO, the Department of Telecommunications and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam.
