Suzlon Energy has appointed Anjali Byce as its group chief human resources officer (CHRO), strengthening its leadership team with an HR professional who brings close to three decades of experience across the manufacturing, automotive, industrial, engineering, technology and financial services sectors.

Before joining Suzlon, Byce served as CHRO at Tata Motors, where she led the people agenda for Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. Prior to that, she spent over six years as group CHRO at Sterlite Technologies (STL), starting from 2019-2025, driving the company’s global people strategy during a phase of business growth and transformation.

Earlier in her career, Byce held senior HR leadership roles at SKF India, Thermax and Cummins, where she led HR, industrial relations, health, safety and environment functions, while also spearheading the company’s Women’s Affinity Group in India.

She began her professional journey at Tata Motors as a Sales Officer before transitioning into human resources with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance.

With nearly 27 years of experience, Byce has built expertise across organisational development, talent management, leadership development, culture transformation, industrial relations and HR strategy. Her cross-sector experience positions her well to lead Suzlon’s people agenda as the renewable energy company continues to strengthen its organisational capabilities and support its next phase of growth.

Byce holds a master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi and a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources, with a minor in Marketing, from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD). She has also completed executive education at IMD Business School.
