Madhavan B, an engineer with a passion for people, has embarked on a new chapter in his career. After nearly three years at Airtel, he’s joined Elgi Equipments as HRBP-ISAAME & SEA, bringing with him a diverse and enriching journey in the world of Human Resources.

Madhavan’s story began with a foundation in engineering, but his curiosity led him to explore the human side of business. He pursued an MBA in HR Management from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, equipping himself with the tools to navigate the complexities of people and organisations.

His early career was a whirlwind of internships and short stints at companies such as Birla Carbon and UltraTech Cement. These experiences ignited a passion for understanding different industries, from manufacturing and R&D to sales and marketing.

Birla Carbon became a turning point. Starting as an assistant manager-plant HR, Madhavan quickly impressed with his talent. He was promoted to regional HRBP, taking charge of talent management, rewards, performance, and learning initiatives across the company’s manufacturing plants, research centre, and marketing teams. This role allowed him to hone his skills in leading and developing a diverse workforce.

In 2017, Madhavan sought new challenges at UltraTech Cement. There, he leveraged his expertise as HR Lead-Cement Marketing, ensuring a smooth post-merger integration and leading the company’s marketing team in areas of rewards, performance, and productivity.

Always seeking growth, Madhavan joined Airtel in August 2021. He began as circle head, leading HR for the Tamil Nadu & Kerala regions. His strong leadership and interpersonal skills were recognised, leading to a promotion to circle HR head-Karnataka. During his tenure at Airtel, Madhavan gained valuable experience in a dynamic telecom environment.

Now, at Elgi Equipments, Madhavan embarks on a new adventure. His well-rounded background across various sectors, coupled with his strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, positions him perfectly for success.
