TVS Motor Company has significantly bolstered its workforce in response to unprecedented growth in two-wheeler sales and a burgeoning market share in electric vehicles. Over the fiscal year 2023-24, the company added more than 3,300 employees, boosting its total workforce to 16,239 from 12,907 in the previous year.

TVS Motor Company’s recruitment efforts in the fiscal year 2023-24 reportedly included about 600 engineers and managers, aligned with strategic focus on future mobility, connected technologies and digital innovation.

Additionally, about 1,000 personnel were brought on board to bolster capacities for heightened production volumes, new product introductions and improvements in spares and accessories. Factoring in adjustments related to reporting reclassification, the total net increase for the year amounted to approximately 1,600 individuals.

The surge in TVS Motor’s hiring activity comes on the heels of its record-breaking annual sales performance, with the company achieving its highest-ever sales figures in FY24. The company reported sales of 4.19 million units, marking a significant increase from 3.68 million units in FY23. Specifically, two-wheeler sales grew by 15 per cent year-on-year, reaching 4.04 million units in FY24.

In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, TVS Motor continued its growth trajectory with a 15 per cent year-on-year increase in two-wheeler sales, amounting to 1.05 million units.

The company emphasised that these recruitments are integral to meeting current demands and future aspirations, particularly in maintaining a diverse product portfolio that includes electric vehicles.
