    Khaitan & Co. ropes in Dr Vimal Choudhary for COO role

    Dr Choudhary was associated with McKinsey & Company for over 23 years, starting in 2002

    Dr. Vimal Choudhary who was head McKinsey Knowledge Centre and global director for strategy-McKinsey Global Services, has moved to Khaitan & Company as the chief operating officer.

    Choudhary’s association with McKinsey goes back to 2002 when he joined as a senior research associate. For the next five and a half years, he worked out of Gurugram, London and Munich to set up and co-lead various business research teams to serve McKinsey clients worldwide focused on functions and sectors such as organisation, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, petroleum, energy, chemicals, basic materials.

    From 2007 to 2009, he served as organisation practice knowledge specialist. April of 2009 saw him being elevated to global knowledge manager, McKinsey Asia Centre. A year into this role he was promoted yet again to practice manager-organisation practice Asia Pacific. This was in addition to his role at McKinsey Asia Centre.

    June of 2014 was witness to Dr Vimal Choudhary becoming CEO,McKinsey Asia Centre; COO, APAC Organisation Practice and McKinsey Leadership Institute/Aberkyn,India.

    June of 2019 to April of 2020, heserved as global CFO-Organisation practice, director-APAC+China Organisation practice, C4, McKinsey Asia Centre and Aberkyn, India.

    He was elevated to head, McKinsey Knowledge Centre and director for S&D, India in February of 2020. Less than two years into this role, he was promoted to director, board of directors, McKinsey Global Services. Since January of 2022, he has been heading McKinsey Knowledge Centre and playing global director for strategy-McKinsey Global Services.

    He has spent over 23 and a half years with McKinsey. Since 2023 he has been council member, NASSCOM Northern Regional Council. He has also been director, board of directors, ETML, the Indian growth advertising & analytics company since March of 2025.

    In his latest assignment at Khaitan & Co., one of India’s oldest and recognised full service law firms, Dr Vimal Choudhary will be tasked with driving operational excellence, facilitating digital transformation and contributing to the growth of the firm.
