Capital One Financial Corporation has appointed Pooja Ranjan as the head of human resources for Capital One India. Backed by the experience she gained from her two-decade long tenure at IBM, Ranjan will be tasked with handling leadership planning, talent strategy, strategic workforce planning, and organisational transformation.

Pooja Ranjan’s association with IBM began in the year 2000. She spent her initial three years there as AP compensation design team. In January of 2004 she was elevated to integration lead-Daksh. A year later she became total compensation partner. Two years into this role came another promotion that made her HR process leader-global, in 2007.

Almost six and a half years later, she was made HR transformation leader-Japan. The next promotion in June 2018 made her global functional leader-workday centre of competence.

From January 2021 to March 2023 she played process transformation leader-talent and transformation. By the time she moved on from IBM in 2024, she had become HR reinvention and change leader.

April of 2024 saw her taking on the role of VP-business transformation and HR, AntWorks.

Known for her unwavering focus on her work and ability to find ways and means to add value, both to the function and to the organisation, Pooja Ranjan is sure to be an asset to Capital One.

She is looking forward to “fostering a vibrant culture where top data scientists, software engineers, and technology leaders can solve some of the most complex challenges in modern finance.”

HRKatha wishes her all the best in this endeavour!
