Compass, the US-based real-estate technology company, intends to double its headcount in India at the Compass India Development Centre (IDC), in Hyderabad, over the next few months.
The primary focus right now is on engineering and development of next-gen technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), cloud computing, data analytics, robotic process automation (RPA) and iOS and Android development
The Company — that provides an end-to-end platform that empowers residential real-estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients — has over 200 employees at the IDC, including software engineers and product teams that have developed multiple cloud-based services, since the launch of the centre in the first quarter of 2020.
The Compass platform includes an integrated suite of cloud-based software for customer-relationship management, marketing, client service and other critical functionality, all custom-built for the real-estate industry and enabling the company’s core brokerage services.
Globally, Compass has a workforce of 850+ product and engineering professionals. The IDC at Hyderabad is the only technology hub Compass operates outside the US and complements the company’s tech hubs in New York City, Seattle and Washington, DC.
Joseph Sirosh, chief technology officer, Compass, points out that the Company wants to make the most of India’s “finest technology talent powered by entrepreneurial thinking and innovation, critical for transforming industries.” According to him, it is the Indian talent’s “ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment accompanied by strong technical skills” that makes them perfect for the Company.
The Company is “looking for people who move fast, dream big, and want to shape the direction of their own careers while shaping the future of real estate through cutting edge innovation.”
