Capgemini India ties up with Portea Medical to provide healthcare services to its employees

Consulting firm, Capgemini India, has tied up with Portea Medical, India’s largest outside-of-hospital consumer healthcare brand, to provide various healthcare services during the ongoing pandemic.

Under this collaboration, employees who are exposed to the virus and need testing, or have already tested positive, will receive the home care services offered by the healthcare brand.

With this initiative, Capgemini plans to cover the medical cost of the home care for not just the employees but also for their family members, for 10 days of isolation and additional seven days for further symptoms, if any.

The COVID-19 home-isolation package also includes doctor teleconsultation, follow-up calls, nutrition consultation and planning, and more.

Over and above this home package, the employees can choose to avail additional services on a pay-per-use basis. These services include renting or buying of medical equipment, nurse or doctor visits, investigations and other home care services through the end of the year.

Meena Ganesh, MD and CEO, Portea Medical, points out that although the tie-up was born out of concern for the employees during these uncertain times, “initiative will stay relevant in the times to come, since work-from-home is the new normal and makes it difficult for employees to discuss their health concerns and worries.”

Venkat Neelakantan, VP and regional head, corporate real estate services, APAC, Capgemini, pointed out that Capgemini, has its employees “at the heart of all that it does”.  The collaboration with Portea Medical is aimed at enabling home medical assistance, so that the employees “and their dependent family members get good quality healthcare during the pandemic.”

Capgemini has a workforce of over 125,000 team members across 12 locations in the country.
