Arunachal Pradesh is the latest state to announce 7th Pay Commission benefits. Lakhs of government employees in the State will enjoy an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) from seven per cent to nine per cent. The increment will be effective from July 1 onwards, which means the bank accounts of the State Government staff will also be credited with four months’ arrears. However, institutions that get a grant or aid from the Government are not eligible for this increment.
In Odisha also, the employees of the public-sector undertakings of the State will be eligible for a similar two percent hike in DA, effective from July 1. The Bihar Government also announced a two per cent DA hike for its staff and pensioners. The load on the State’s treasury will now increase by an additional Rs 419 crore.
The Uttar Pradesh Government announced a DA hike along with a 30-day bonus, adding to the burden of the treasury by Rs 967 crore.
