A former employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), who was terminated suddenly without any explanation, has alleged that he was humiliated by the HR when he approached them for a clarification.

The said employee wrote in a Reddit post that he wanted to know why he had been suddenly terminated and why his access was blocked without any notice or intimation. However, his queries via e-mail received no response from the HR and his calls too went unanswered.

On the said day, when he found he could not access his system, he went to the HR, but was apparently told by an HR representative that since he had been terminated, he should not expect any response to his mails or queries.

The employee alleged that HR representatives even tried to confiscate his phone as he had recorded the interaction where he had asked about the severance pay and the separation process.

The Reddit post claims that the employee was physically held back, and his arm twisted. Over and above the physical pain, the Reddit user claims that he felt deeply humiliated.

The tormented employee admits to feeling quite helpless without any response to his queries and no formal communication about the termination from TCS.

He sought advice from others on Reddit on how to seek justice via legal means.

While some members of the Reddit community have reportedly advised the former TCS employee to approach a lawyer , others have suggested sharing the video on social media to expose the fact that he had been assaulted.

      This is completely injustice
to the employee, without any prior information, employees cannot be terminated just like that by the management.
Moreover, even after termination from job HR should behave with employees in respective manner.
HR should understand employees emotions that no employee cannot digest their termination..
After all HR is also just an employee like us,one day he might can face the same problem, so please behave with employees in a good manner.

Need good exit policy with severance clause well defined.it is legal right and exit should be graceful. Layoffs due to redundancy or cost cutting factor should be transparent. Soon court and labour ministry will be coming up with heavy severance and justice. We are dealing with humans not to forget.

HR dept is considered to be the heart of an organisation. While the written policies maybe strong and comprehensive, it is the HR employees who have to implement the same. The flaw is therefore lies with the HR executives. Transparency, unbiased approach and the right to dignity of employees are the causes that are the cornerstone of HR policy. Right to dignity cuts across the hierarchy and is the responsibility of all the employees themselves. Poor selection of HR staff can cause significant reputational damage to the organisation. People have forgotten to be respectful to each other.

Brother’s same is also happening in Adani group…they forced to resign their employees likewise in a conference room. A lot of employees have been terminated without any prior notice or any reason.
