    Himadri Roy appointed head-HR, Hindustan Pencils

    Himadri Roy is now head-human resources, Hindustan Pencils. Based out of Mumbai, Roy will be responsible for aligning people’s priorities with the company’s business objectives in India and fostering a high-performance culture that empowers the employees to thrive and succeed.

    Roy is backed by over two decades of experience spanning FMCG, hospitality and retail sectors.

    He began his professional journey with Asian Paints as human resources officer in 2001. Six years later, he moved on to The Oberoi Group as assistant manager –HR. Two years into this role, he was elevated to human resources manager, in 2010. He was the second in command, with the job of assisting the director –HR with the entire gamut of human resource and industrial relations activities of the hotel.

    In 2011, he moved to Roha, Maharashtra. Joining Pepsico as plant HR manager. Just over two years later, he was elevated to the position of general manager-HR, based out of Gurugram. Among his many responsibilities he drove and executed the performance-management process, conducted engagement surveys, action planning and management-quality surveys along with 360 degree surveys.

    His next stop was Hilton, Mumbai, in 2014. For the next three and a half years, he headed HR and training, with his responsibilities including both strategic and operational HR.

    The year 2017 saw him in Bengaluru, joining Jubilant FoodWorks as regional HR head (South India). By 2019, he was promoted to the post of deputy general manager-HR (Sri Lanka and Bangladesh).

    Now, at Hindustan Pencils, this Commerce graduate from Lucknow University—who has postgraduated in human resources from the All India Management Association, New Delhi— will work to empower the employees and help foster a high-performance culture.

    With his core competencies including talent management, employee engagement & culture building, compensation and benefits, statutory compliance and industrial relations, Roy is sure to be an asset to Hindustan Pencils. HRKatha wishes him success in this new assignment.
