After a long operational hiatus of over two years, Jet Airways is set to resume domestic operations in India by the first quarter of 2022. As it moves towards getting back in business, the Airline has also initiated hiring activities across India. Sources have reported that the Airline plans to hire at least 1000 employees in the first phase of its revival.
Through its twitter handle, Jet posted a hiring announcement, urging interested candidates to send in their resumes. The post says that the airline would be looking forward to onboarding prospective employees soon. It, however, doesn’t specify the positions being hired for.
Capt. Sudhir Gaur, who is acting as CEO for the carrier, said that the Airline has currently hired 150 full-time employees and is planning to hire another 1,000 employees in FY2021-22 across roles.
Further, the Airline will also shift its headquarters from Mumbai to Delhi-NCR. The senior management will operate from a corporate office in Gurgaon.
Recently, the employees’ association of Jet Airways had approached the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, discussing their concerns over pending salaries and retirement benefits, and how the Company plans to address these issues under the resolution plan.
The counsel gave Kalrock-Jalan consortium two weeks’ time to respond to the concerns of the association.
Jet Airways 2.0 plans to restart domestic operations by Q1-2022 and short haul international operations by the third and fourth quarters of the same year. The Airlines is aiming to acquire around 50 aircrafts in the next three years and 100 in five years.
