SK Jain, CHRO, Jindal Stainless is no more. On Friday, April 16, Jain suffered a cardiac attack at his residence.

Jain, a seasoned HR professional, was associated with Jindal Stainless for over 28 years. Apart from managing several HR roles, also handled operations at the Company for six years.

He joined Jindal Stainless in 1991, and he played a major role in setting up the Company’s compensation and performance management systems, and designing its training processes.

Jain started his career as a personnel officer with BHEL, Punjab, where he was elevated to the role of senior personnel officer. He worked with BHEL for almost eight years.

Well versed in IR and HR practices, Jain completed his PGDM in HR and IR from Xavier Institute of Social Sciences.

Praveer Priyadarshi, former CHRO, Jindal Stainless, remembers him as a “very senior HR professional with a great understanding of HR and IR.” Priyadarshi recalls how “he had the skill to manage stakeholders and played a significant role in setting up everything from scratch at Jindal Stainless, helping the Company on its trajectory to success.”

Nitin Thakur, head of L&D, Jindal Stainless, tells HRKatha that Jain was a big inspiration for everybody in the company. “He was like family and his sudden demise has left everyone in a state of shock,” he said.

“He had great work ethics and kept everybody on their toes. We have also seen him working on weekends – that was the kind of effort he used to put into his work. Without such an attitude, it is very difficult for anyone to look after such a big conglomerate as Jindal Stainless,” shares Thakur.

A great professional as well as personal loss. A seasoned HR professional. Adept in handling complex issues with elan. Worked with him for four years as part of Jindals. He leaves a void behind that will be difficult to fill. God bless his soul
