Balmer Lawrie & Co. elevates Ratna Sekhar Adika to chairman & MD

The HR leader has been with the PSE for eight years now

Public sector enterprise, Balmer Lawrie & Co., has elevated its director – HR and CA, Ratna Sekhar Adika, to the position of chairman and managing director. Adika has been with the PSE, under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, operating in both manufacturing and service sectors, since 2014. He had joined as senior vice president for human resources, and was promoted to the position of director HR within four years

A graduate from Osmania University, Adika began his career as a management trainee/ assistant project officer, for the Hyderabad-based electrical manufacturing company, Vijay Electricals in 1988. His experience with the MSME helped him secure employment with Bharat Electronics in 1989. He joined BEL as Manager-HR, a position he successfully held for 17 years. Following his stint with the PSU, Adika joined the manufacturer of pistons and piston rings, Federal Mogul Goetze India as chief manager- HR and IR, in 2006. His engagement with the Company wasn’t long, ending within half a year when Adika moved to GMR Hyderabad International Airport.

He worked with GMR as an associate general manager- HR for nearly two years before switching to Bilfinger Berger India Constructions in 2008, taking up the position of head-HR.

In 2009, Adika moved to Ramky Group of Companies, as GM-HR, responsible for one of the largest PPP projects of Ramky in the solid waste management space. His engagement with Ramky ended in 2010, when he took up the role of deputy head- human resources at Tata Projects, in 2010. Adika worked with Tata Projects for four years, before joining Balmer Lawrie and hence, re-entering the PSE space.
