Birlasoft has elevated Varun Mittal to senior director-global human resources shared services. He has been with the IT services and consulting company since 2016.
Mittal began his professional journey with Espire Infolabs as executive-HR, in 2003. Just a year and three months later, he moved to Goto Customer Services as assistant manager-HR.
May of 2007 saw Mittal taking up the role of assistant manager-HR at Infinity Advertising, where he worked in generalist HR profile for 500 odd employees Pan India. He handled recruitment, onboarding & induction, payroll, PMS and exit and so on for all 500 employees with a team of five in HR.
Mittal’s next stop was Reliance MediaWorks where he served as manager-HR from 2007 to 2012. He worked in a generalist profile for 2,200 odd employees working out of 40 properties (North and Central India).
April of 2012 was witness to Varun Mittal being appointed senior manager-HR. Almost four and a half years into this role, he switched to Aircel. He joined as senior manager-HR. Almost four years later, he was promoted to circle head-HR in February of 2016.
Mittal’s association with Birlasoft began in October of 2016. He joined as head HR operations and compliances (HRSS). Over nine years into this role, he was elevated to associate director–human resources, in 2019.
Six years and eight months into this role, he was promoted yet again to global human resources director. Now, he is senior director-global HR shared services. He will be heading global payroll, global compliances, employee benefits and HR-ops.
