Tesla has appointed its new country HR leader, Chithra Thomas. With 18 years of experience in HR backing her, Thomas has moved from Reliance Retail where she was the VP-HR, handling the HR operations for AJIO, an e-commerce initiative of Reliance Retail.
At Reliance Retail, she led a team of 90 members and looked after total rewards, talent acquisition and designing of learning and development initiatives. She also handled the core HR operations for 25,000 employees.
After completing an MBA in HR, Thomas started her career with HPE India and worked with them for six years.
In 2009, she joined Walmart, and completed an over five-year tenure there before joining Reliance Retail in 2015.
Having registered itself in India in January 2021, Tesla will soon start its operations in the country. The firm has also accelerated its hiring for other leadership positions. Recently, it has hired Manuj Khurana as the business development head for India region and Nishant from Arther Energy as head of the supercharging, destination and home-charging business.
