Greaves Cotton, the Indian diversified engineering company, has appointed Vinay Pawar as its group chief technology officer (GCTO). He moves from Minda Instruments where he spent the last six odd years, with his most recent designation there being senior vice president and business head.
An Engineering graduate who went on to obtain an MBA, Vinay Pawar spent the initial years of his professional journey as a senior engineer with ABB, from 1995 to 2000. He then moved to Rober Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, where he served as group manager, embedded and engineering software gasoline systems. This stint lasted over nine years.
April of 2009 saw him taking up the role of general manager-engine systems, technical centre India, Continental Corporation. Three years later, he became director and co-founder of Zoojoo.BE & Gaia Energy Projects.
KPIT roped him in for the role of global delivery manager, in September of 2014. This role saw him working out of Munich for over a year and a half.
Vinay Pawar was back in India, working out of Pune for Spark Minda Technical Centre, Spark Minda Group, as chief technology officer and vice president-products. Three years into this role, he was appointed chief technology officer/vice president (R&D and manufacturing engineering), Minda Instruments, in October, 2019.
Less than four years into this role, he was elevated to senior vice president and business head|clusters and cockpit division, Minda Instruments.
In his latest assignment at Greaves Cotton, Vinay Pawar will be expected to lead the technology vision, improve product and platform innovation, strengthen digital and future-ready capabilities, and support the company’s growth goals.
With the aim of “strengthening our core, accelerating growth, and building long-term competitive advantage,” Parag Satpute, managing director & group CEO, Greaves Cotton, is relying on “Vinay’s deep expertise across automotive electronics, connected technologies, and future mobility, combined with his strong execution capabilities” to “lead our technology agenda”.
