Last month, Paytm appointed two ex-Googlers to head its Paytm cloud and advertising businesses. Now, the Company has roped in Kinjal Chaudhry, as the SVP-HR and head of operations for the new Paytm services business, which was launched only last month as per our sources.

The purpose of this business is to provide manpower services to the internal business of Paytm, such as Paytm Mall, Paytm Payment Bank, and Paytm Money.

Rather than sourcing manpower services from external vendors, the Company has established its own internal manpower business.

In this role, Chaudhary will be heading the entire operations of the business.

The current field force of 10,000 employees is expected to increase to 30,000 in the next six to eight months, as confirmed by our sources.

Prior to this appointment, Chaudhary was the SVP and group CHRO at Eicher Trucks & Buses.

Chaudhry has dabbled in HR for more than 20 years, working in different companies. With diverse experience in many sectors, such as FMCG, food and beverages, automobile, IT and e-commerce, he has now joined a fintech company.

He has worked with companies, such as ITC, Unilever, PepsiCo, ITC Infotech and Amazon.

After completing his postgraduation in HR from XLRI, Chaudhry joined ITC as a management trainee and worked there for close to eight years, with his last position there being that of an HR manager. Chaudhry also holds a master’s degree in economics.
