Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a government-owned entity, has appointed KS Shetty as the director of human resources. His appointment is effective from Monday, May 1, 2023.
Shetty comes with over two decades of experience in HR roles in various capacities at HPCL, and an extensive knowledge of different statutory/ regulatory requirements under various labour laws. Currently, Shetty is serving on the AIMA core committee on HR and the National Council of the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD). He has also joined the board of HPCL’s wholly-owned subsidiary company, effective from October 10, 2022.
Before his appointment as director of HR, Shetty also held the position of executive director of human resources with the additional responsibility of the employee relations department.
In the new role, Shetty will spearhead the entire spectrum of HR/ER functions, such as talent acquisition, capability building, career and succession planning, performance and rewards management, and discipline management.
As per the company, Shetty’s appointment is for five years, starting from the date of the commencement of the post.
Shetty holds a gold medal in human resource management (HRM) from Andhra University, and a diploma in sustainable development from the Swedish Institute in Stockholm. He completed his advanced management program from MDI, Gurgaon/ESCP Europe Business School in Paris in 2016.
