Kult, the app that makes finding the right beauty products easier than ever with its data and content-driven platform, has appointed Rishi Patnaik as chief business officer.
Patnaik moves to the beauty and skin care platform from Nykaa where he served as senior vice president for over four years.
A commerce graduate from Sambalpur University, Patnaik also has a PGDFT in Fashion Management to his credit, from Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI).
He began his professional journey as a territory business manager, with Landmark Group. Over four years later, he moved to Reliance Brands, as senior manager, from 2008 to 2010.
Rishi Patnaik’s next stop was Jabong, in September of 2010, where he spent almost eight and a half years as vice president.
The year 2019 was witness to Patnaik taking up the role of senior vice president, Noon, working out of Dubai. Over two and a half years later, he joined Nykaa as senior vice president, based out of Delhi.
In his new role at Kult, Rishi Patnaik will drive the app’s business growth, brand strategy, and market expansion as the company continues to scale its presence in the beauty and personal care space.
Rishi Patnaik feels, “The Indian beauty e-commerce market is poised for change, and KULT’s AI-driven app is driving that change, making beauty discovery intelligent, personalised, and intuitive like never before”.
According to him, “Kult is not merely a brand, it’s a fresh ‘cult’ within the beauty and personal care space. It’s where innovation and technology meet and intersect with an in-depth knowledge of what consumers truly desire today”.
Karishma Singh, CEO, Kult E-commerce, is relying on Rishi Patnaik’s “record of building consumer loved businesses and the operational rigour to scale them” and is confident that “he will turn a great product into a category defining company”.
