Hero Motocorp has appointed Pradyumna Pandey as its new head-HR for its manufacturing unit. He was associated with Mother Dairy where he led the company as its chief human resources officer (CHRO) for close to three years.

Backed with over three decades of experience in human resource, Pandey possesses a strong aptitude for planning and executing inventive human resources strategies and organisational development interventions that are customised to meet the requirements of the company. He has previously worked with many companies like ACC, Holcim, JK Tyres, CBL Pro, and Torrent Pharmaceuticals.

In the initial years of his career, Pandey was associated with ACC, a cement manufacturing company, as manager-HR. He joined the company in 1991 and led the plant and corporate office for close to 14 years. This was the longest stint in his HR journey. He then served as regional HR head at Holcim, a building materials manufactring firm, for more than 4 years, from  August 2005 to November 2009. At Holcim, Pandey was responsible for HR & IR related matters and OD interventions for the region comprising four cement plants and commercial HR.

From 2009 to 2014, he worked as assistant vice president and head-HR at Mawana Sugars, looking into all HR and IR related matters of its sugar division. He then moved to JK Tyres and Industries in Jan 2014 and served the company as its vice president and head of human resources for close to 6 years. At JK Tyres, Pandey had the responsibility to advance JKTIL’s performance goals by leading the development and implementation of initiatives related to people and organisation, promoting business-oriented organisational development, enhancing talent and organisational capabilities, and reinforcing a performance culture by utilising the company’s fundamental principles.

Known for his extremely focussed, strategical leadership and diligent approach to work, Pandey will now oversee all manufacturing aspects at Hero Motocorp. As a critical member of the HR leadership team, Pandey will guide the company towards future growth during a time of continual transformation. He will collaborate with the leadership team to establish and execute strategies related to people and talent in the manufacturing units that are consistent with business goals.

In his new assignment, he will also be accountable for promoting a culture and building a workforce that is adaptable, as well as an HR function that multiplies ideas and nurtures design thinking.

Pandey is an alumnus of Cornell University where he did his certification in HR business leadership programme.
