Jio Haptik Technologies, the conversational AI platform and subsidiary of Reliance Jio Platforms, has announced the appointment of Nimesh Mathur as the director – people & culture. In his new role, Mathur will work closely with the Company’s leadership to run end to end talent acquisition, people development, performance management, and organisational culture.

Mathur, who has moved from Branch Metrics, where he was head of customer success for APAC, comes with 15 years of cross-functional leadership experience across diverse industries.

Having started his career with Tech Mahindra as a technical support engineer, Mathur moved to Cognizant as a software engineer in 2007. Less than two years later, he found himself at eLitmus as manager – customer success. By the time he left eLitmus after a successful six-years tenure, he was director – customer success.

In May 2014, he joined HackerRank as head – customer success, APAC. As a founding customer success team member, he was responsible for building and leading HackerRank’s B2B customer success function for India and the SEA region, with a focus on product adoption and customer engagement.

Four years later, in 2018, Mathur joined Pluralsight as customer success director for the Bangalore Area. A short stint of a year and a half later, he joined Branch Metrics as head – customer success for APAC. led an incredibly capable team of Customer Success Managers in India, SEA, and ANZ regions. There he was responsible for B2B customer success and overall post-sales revenue (retention+expansion).

Aakrit Vaish, co-founder & CEO, Haptik, reveals that the Company, which has clients such as KFC, Oyo Rooms, Ola Cabs, Hotstar and Starhub, besides Reliance Jio, has been on the lookout for a person who understands the business end-to-end and would be able to build the HR function around the same. Vaish feels that Mathur with a “rare combination of empathy, leadership and with a solid SaaS background” is the right choice.

Mathur himself feels it is the right time to join Haptik, “as it gives me the opportunity to help build and further strengthen the people’s development, develop current and bring in fresh talent. It also gives me the opportunity to play a vital role in shaping a culture that will be the key to drive desired business outcomes”.
