It was in April of 2007 that his association with HDFC Bank began. He joined as regional head HR-South & East. This role saw him working out of Chennai for 15 years. Then, in May 2022, he relocated to Mumbai when he was elevated to the position of lead corporate HRBP. For the next year and a half, he led HR for the wealth, NRI, product & overseas businesses. For about seven months, he successfully handled partner-led recruitment too.

By October 2023, he was elevated to the role of head-HRBP.

Kumar, who has studied organisational leadership at Harvard Business School, holds an MSW degree from PSG College.

Known to be a well rounded manager with abilities to work in challenging situations, Niranjan Kumar is a perfect blend of intelligence, authority, aggression, and professionalism.

HRKatha wishes him all the best in his latest assignment at Karnataka Bank.
